The Kingdom Teachings

Holy and heavenly choices bring dignity to one's personal  character. You become ennobled, upstanding, a moral creature who is living the ideal of Paradise.

You are walking in the way of the Kingdom of Heaven as a much more integrated personality soul who is accessible to love, available to wisdom, and awakening to all power from within.

The kingdom teaching is the idea of recognition, respect, responsibility, reverence, receptivity, and religious relationship which ushers one into the spiritual ideal of individual righteousness and the concept of man’s divine fellowship with God.

The acceptance of such a teaching would liberate humankind from the age-long bondage of animal fear and at the same time enrich human living with the following endowments of the new life of spiritual liberty:

1. The possession of new courage and augmented spiritual power. The gospel of the kingdom is to set humankind free and inspire each one to dare to hope for eternal life.

2. The gospel carries a message of new confidence and true consolation for all men, even for the poor of spirit who have lost hope and waver in their faith.

3. It is in itself a new standard of moral values, a new ethical yardstick wherewith to measure human conduct. It portrays the ideal of a resultant new order of human society.

4. It teaches the pre-eminence of the spiritual compared with the material; it glorifies spiritual realities and exalts superhuman ideals.

5. This new gospel holds upward all spiritual attainment as the true goal of living. Human life receives a new endowment of moral value and divine dignity.

6. It nurtures the understanding idea that eternal realities are the resultant reward of righteous earthly striving. Man’s mortal sojourn on earth acquires new meanings consequent upon the recognition of a noble destiny.

7. The new gospel affirms that human salvation is the revelation of a far-reaching divine purpose to be fulfilled and realized in the future destiny of the endless service of the salvaged daughters and sons of God.

In the Kingdom of God, the truth-loving soul, the one who hungers and thirsts for righteousness, for God, is admitted by faith to the spiritual kingdom.

The very establishment of the kingdom in the hearts of all creatures and every order of Life is fostered by the spirit’s domination and guidance of the individual believer.

The kingdom of God is at hand”— meaning a return to the high spiritual concept of idea, ideal, and reality which proclaims that the kingdom is the will of the heavenly Father .. the Creator Source .. which becomes dominant and transcendent in the heart of the believer.

I am come to stimulate a revival of these actual teachings, and such a restatement shall undo the work of my early 1st century followers who went about to create a sociophilosophical system of belief regarding my  sojourn upon the earth.

The teaching of this story about my person nearly supplanted the preaching of my living gospel of the kingdom. In this way a historical religion of circumstances and events had displaced that more exalted teaching blending humankind's highest moral ideas and spiritual ideals with humankind’s most sublime hope for the future—eternal life.

Religion can progress to that level of experience whereon it becomes an enlightened and wise technique of spiritual reaction to the universe. Such a glorified religion can function on three levels of human personality: the intellectual, the morontial, and the spiritual; upon the mind, in the evolving soul, and with the indwelling spirit.

Spirituality becomes at once the indicator of one’s nearness to God and the measure of one’s usefulness to fellow beings. Spirituality enhances the ability to discover beauty in things, recognize truth in meanings, and discover goodness in values. Spiritual development is determined by capacity therefor and is directly proportional to the elimination of the selfish qualities of love.

Actual spiritual status is the measure of Deity attainment, Adjuster attunement. The achievement of finality of spirituality is equivalent to the attainment of the maximum of reality, the maximum of Godlikeness. Eternal life is the endless quest for infinite values.

The goal of human self-realization should be spiritual, not material. The only realities worth striving for are divine, spiritual, and eternal. Mortal man is entitled to the enjoyment of physical pleasures and to the satisfaction of human affections; he is benefited by loyalty to human associations and temporal institutions; but these are not the eternal foundations upon which to build the immortal personality which must transcend space, vanquish time, and achieve the eternal destiny of divine perfection and finaliter service.

When the flood tides of human adversity, selfishness, cruelty, hate, malice, and jealousy beat about the mortal soul, you may rest in the assurance that there is one inner bastion, the citadel of the spirit, which is absolutely unassailable; at least this is true of every human being who has dedicated the keeping of his soul to the indwelling spirit of the eternal God.

After such spiritual attainment, whether secured by gradual growth or specific crisis, there occurs a new orientation of personality as well as the development of a new standard of values.

Such spirit-born individuals are so remotivated in life that they can calmly stand by while their fondest ambitions perish and their keenest hopes crash; they positively know that such catastrophes are but the redirecting cataclysms which wreck one’s temporal creations preliminary to the rearing of the more noble and enduring realities of a new and more sublime level of universe attainment.

Transformation by the Spirit of Truth Holy Comforter of Christ Michael and the Sons of Paradise

“‘By the old way you seek to suppress, obey, and conform to the rules of living; by the new way you are first transformed by the Spirit of Truth and thereby strengthened in your inner soul by the constant spiritual renewing of your mind, and so are you endowed with the power of the certain and joyous performance of the gracious, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Forget not—it is your personal faith in the exceedingly great and precious promises of God that ensures your becoming partakers of the divine nature.

Thus by your faith and the spirit’s transformation, you become in reality the temples of God, and his spirit actually dwells within you. If, then, the spirit dwells within you, you are no longer bondslaves of the flesh but free and liberated sons of the spirit.

The new law of the spirit endows you with the liberty of self-mastery in place of the old law of the fear of self-bondage and the slavery of self-denial.’”

2. Safety: the condition of being safe from undergoing or causing hurt, injury, or loss.

3. Sertainty: firm conviction that something is the case. "she knew with absolute certainty that they were dead" confidence, sureness, positiveness, conviction, certitude, reliability, assuredness, assurance, validity, conclusiveness, authoritativeness, truth, fact, factualness

4. Security: the quality or state of being secure: such as freedom from danger : safety freedom from fear or anxiety

5. Simplicity: the quality or condition of being easy to understand or do. "for the sake of simplicity, this chapter will concentrate upon one theory" clarity, clearness, plainness, simpleness, intelligibility, comprehensibility, understandability, lucidity, lucidness, coherence, directness, straightforwardness, accessibility.

6. Serenity: the state or quality of being serene, calm, or tranquil; sereneness.

7. Spontaneity: coming or resulting from a natural impulse or tendency; without effort or premeditation; natural and unconstrained; unplanned: (of a person) given to acting upon sudden impulses. (of natural phenomena) arising from internal forces or causes;independent of external agencies; self-acting. growing naturally or without cultivation, as plants and fruits; indigenous. Produced by natural process.

8. Stewardship: Service as the earth’s planetary stewards and caretakers of the kingdoms of life upon Urantia

9. Sovereignty: the quality or state of being sovereign, or of having supreme power or authority. the status, dominion, power, or authority of a sovereign;royal rank or position; royalty. supreme and independent power or authority in government as possessed or claimed by a state or community. rightful status, independence, or prerogative. a sovereign or independent state, community, or political unit.

The Planetary Gospel

Religious Freedom

The purpose of religion is not to satisfy curiosity about God but rather to afford intellectual constancy and philosophic security, to stabilize and enrich human living by blending the mortal with the divine, the partial with the perfect, man and God. 

It is through religious experience that man’s concepts of ideality are endowed with reality.

Never can there be either scientific or logical proofs of divinity. Reason alone can never validate the values and goodness of religious experience. 

But it will always remain true: 

Whosoever wills to do the will of God shall comprehend the validity of spiritual values. 

This is the nearest approach that can be made on the mortal level to offering proofs of the reality of religious experience. Such faith affords the only escape from the mechanical clutch of the material world and from the error distortion of the incompleteness of the intellectual world; it is the only discovered solution to the impasse in mortal thinking regarding the continuing survival of the individual personality. 

It is the only passport to completion of reality and to eternity of life in a universal creation of love, law, unity, and progressive Deity attainment.

Religion effectually cures man’s sense of idealistic isolation or spiritual loneliness; it enfranchises the believer as a son of God, a citizen of a new and meaningful universe. 

Religion assures man that, in following the gleam of righteousness discernible in his soul, he is thereby identifying himself with the plan of the Infinite and the purpose of the Eternal. 

Such a liberated soul immediately begins to feel at home in this new universe, his universe.

When you experience such a transformation of faith, you are no longer a slavish part of the mathematical cosmos but rather a liberated volitional son of the Universal Father. 

No longer is such a liberated son fighting alone against the inexorable doom of the termination of temporal existence; no longer does he combat all nature, with the odds hopelessly against him; no longer is he staggered by the paralyzing fear that, perchance, he has put his trust in a hopeless phantasm or pinned his faith to a fanciful error.

Now, rather, are the sons of God enlisted together in fighting the battle of reality’s triumph over the partial shadows of existence. 

At last all creatures become conscious of the fact that God and all the divine hosts of a well-nigh limitless universe are on their side in the supernal struggle to attain eternity of life and divinity of status. 

Such faith-liberated sons have certainly enlisted in the struggles of time on the side of the supreme forces and divine personalities of eternity; even the stars in their courses are now doing battle for them; at last they gaze upon the universe from within, from God’s viewpoint, and all is transformed from the uncertainties of material isolation to the sureties of eternal spiritual progression. Even time itself becomes but the shadow of eternity cast by Paradise realities upon the moving panoply of space.

The Adjuster Spirit

Though the work of Adjusters is spiritual in nature, they must, perforce, do all their work upon an intellectual foundation. Mind is the human soil from which the spirit Monitor must evolve the morontia soul with the co-operation of the indwelt personality.

I sayeth unto you Illuminatum Fellows .. 

Thine intellectual foundation is the soil from which the spirit Monitor must evolve the morontial soul . . . 

. . . and this is with the help of the indwelt personality. 

How does the spirit Monitor evolve the evolutionary mind into the morontial mind? 

It is through the enlightening of meanings .. and the enhancing of values. New meanings bring forth new perspectives .. a higher philosophy .. with heightening ideas that lend themselves to greater decisions .. a more prosperous way of understanding existence, choosing to engage with existence, and learning to approach this existence in a way that shall actualize all potentialities .. transmute all probabilities upwards .. and allow to ripen three essential features of the emerging consciousness as revealed here in the Urantian revelations.

Personality character grows in its integrity and maturity choice by moral choice and spirit-led decision by decision. 

It is difficult precisely to define the seven levels of human progression, for the reason that these levels are personal; they are variable for each individual and are apparently determined by the growth capacity of each human being. 

The conquest of these levels of cosmic evolution is reflected in three ways:

1. Adjuster attunement. The spiritizing mind nears the Adjuster presence proportional to circle attainment.

2. Soul evolution. The emergence of the morontia soul indicates the extent and depth of circle mastery.

3. Personality reality. The degree of selfhood reality is directly determined by circle conquest. Persons become more real as they ascend from the seventh to the first level of mortal existence.

110:6.11 (1210.6) As the circles are traversed, the child of material evolution is growing into the mature human of immortal potentiality. The shadowy reality of the embryonic nature of a seventh circler is giving way to the clearer manifestation of the emerging morontia nature of a local universe citizen.

Thine Master distinctly teaches a new concept of the double nature of the kingdom in that I portray the following two phases:

First. The kingdom of God in this world, the supreme desire to do the will of God, the unselfish love of humankind which yields the good fruits of improved ethical and moral conduct.

Second. The kingdom of God in heaven, the goal of mortal believers, the estate wherein the love for God is perfected, and wherein the will of God is done more divinely.

I Jesus Michael teach that, by faith, the believer enters the kingdom now. 

In my various lectures and private discourse with disciples, I teach that two things are essential to faith-entrance into the kingdom:

1. Faith, sincerity. To come as a little child, to receive the bestowal of sonship as a gift; to submit to the doing of the Father’s will without questioning and in the full confidence and genuine trustfulness of the Father’s wisdom; to come into the kingdom free from prejudice and preconception; to be open-minded and teachable like an unspoiled child.

2. Truth hunger. The thirst for righteousness, a change of mind, the acquirement of the motive to be like God and to find God.

I am teaching and healing humanity to partake of the right understanding which upholds that sin is not the child of a defective nature but rather the offspring of a knowing mind dominated by an unsubmissive will. 

Regarding sin, I teach that God has forgiven; that we make such forgiveness personally available by the act of forgiving our fellows. 

When you forgive your brother in the flesh, you thereby create the capacity in your own soul for the reception of the reality of God’s forgiveness of your own misdeeds.
